Frequently Asked Questions & Answers about Neuropathy and its Treatment

What causes Neuropathy?

Aside from diabetes, it can be caused by other metabolic conditions, herpes zoster infection, HIV-related infection, nutritional deficiencies, toxins, genetic and immune disorders. Neuropathy can be a result of cancer that can cause a direct compression of the tumor on the nerves, or as a result of chemotherapy or radiation treatment. Compression of the nerves existing the spine, disc compression, and entrapment syndromes can cause neuropathies.

What does the 5-step Protocol feel like? It is painful? Is It Dangerous?

The MicroVas electrical stimulator feels good. The signal feels like a strong tingle and muscle contraction that pulses on and off. You can manually adjust the intensity setting for maximum contraction without being uncomfortable. The oxygen therapy is relaxing. You will notice an increase in the ability to breath deeply.

The Self Mastery Technique is very relaxing. In fact many patients will fall asleep or feel like they fall asleep during the treatment. After the treatment patients feel extremely relaxed and often times even energized.

The Vibration Therapy feels like mild exercise. It requires the patient to exert some force and energy so patients will feel like they just had a mild workout.

How long until the treatments begin working?

Many patients will notice a temporary relief of their pain, numbness and tingling within the first few visits. Some patients have even had considerable relief after just the first treatment. This relief will be temporary at first and may last between 2-4 hours. Then, this benefit should gradually increase in effectiveness and length of time with each successive treatment. Generally patients will notice marked improvement in 4-6 weeks. Some patients may respond faster. Some may respond slower.

Who Does Not Qualify for the 5-step Protocol for Neuropathy?

The Neuropathy 5-step Protocol is safe for almost everyone. As with all medical equipment we suggest that pregnant women and children should not use so the protocol. Also, patients with certain pacemakers, especially those with the defibrillator accessory may not qualify for treatment. You can check with your cardiologist and even have him call us for a technical consultation to determine if you can do the protocol under his direct supervision.

Will the treatments keep me from getting neuropathy if I am on chemo now?

Yes, in all likelihood it will. In fact many cancer treatment centers recommend and use a similar protocol to do just that for their patients.

I Have Tried Many Other Programs That Didn’t Work. Why is This Program Different?

As a Neuropathy patient you’ve likely been told “You have neuropathy. Take this medication for the pain. It may help or it may not”, or you’ve been told “There’s nothing more that can be done for the neuropathy in your legs and your feet. You will just have to learn to live with it.” Traditional medical treatment focuses on anti-epilepsy drugs and anti-depressants, or even worse opiates, and these drugs do nothing for the underlying problem which is damage or death to the small fiber nerves in your feet, hands or legs.

Until now most treatments for Neuropathy were minimally effective and temporary at best. Until Now! Our exclusive Non-Invasive, Non-Drug and non surgical neuropathy treatment has helped thousands of patients JUST LIKE YOU!

What Sets Your Clinic Apart from other Clinics Out There?

By using the best of modern technology from America, Europe and more, these proven and effective therapies not only can provide significant relief, but they have also been documented to allow for nerve regeneration. The general public, as well as doctors are often unaware of these new therapies that can reverse the damage and pain of peripheral neuropathy simply because they have been doing the same thing for so long that they don’t take the time to learn what more may be available.

If I Don’t Do anything About These Symptoms What Will Happen? Will I Have to Have an Amputation?

Peripheral Neuropathy is almost always a progressive disorder that will get worse and worse over time. In some cases if left untreated the Neuropathy can lead to such a severe deterioration of the area that the only solution is amputation. The compromised blood circulation can lead to infections, injuries and foot ulcers, which can then lead to foot and leg amputations. This is because the blood cannot circulate fast enough to heal wounded areas. 86,000 Americans each year undergo diabetic amputations as a result of uncontrolled neuropathy.

I think I Have Diabetes. How Does Diabetes Affect Neuropathy?

Uncontrolled diabetes (even on medication) results from a poor diet, lack of exercise and unstable sugar levels. High blood sugar (glucose) due to a poor diet harms nerves and blood vessels. This affects circulation, especially the peripheral area of the body, such as limbs and extremities. This will then lead to Diabetic Neuropathy, which damages nerve fibers, causing numbness that leads to injuries and/or infections due to decreased sensations.

What Can I Expect During My Complementary Consultation?

It is important to have the most accurate and comprehensive testing performed in order to determine the exact cause of neuropathy as well as determine which treatments will be most effective for your particular condition.

When patients come to our clinic they often remark about what a comprehensive and thorough examination they received from us. They are also often surprised at the time and attention that we spend explaining Neuropathy, it’s signs, symptoms and all of their options for treatment. They commonly say things like, “I have been to 3 other specialists. Nobody has performed such a thorough examination and told me exactly the reason for my Neuropathy and what treatments are available.”

In fact our examination is so comprehensive it often includes the following:

  • nerves are checked for neuropathy involvement
  • a peripheral nervous system stress analysis
  • foot and leg circulation testing
  • nerve sensitivity testing
  • pain fiber testing
  • thermal receptor testing
  • pressure receptor testing
  • light touch sensitivity
  • vibration sensitivity testing
  • as well as balance ability and control testing

How Do I Find Out If I Qualify For Care?

Call us to schedule a complementary consultation to determine if you are a candidate for our 5-step Neuropathy Relief Program. The doctor will ask you a series of questions such as “Where is the pain, when did it begin, what makes it better or worse?” Then a thorough examination will be performed in which case the doctor will check your reflexes, blood pressure, balance, gait, skin sensory changes muscle strength and more to determine the cause of your Neuropathy symptoms. At this point the doctor may recommend x-rays or an MRI if he feels like further imaging will be necessary to determine the exact cause. After combining all of this information together the doctor will determine if you will make a good candidate for our 5-step Protocol for Neuropathy Pain Relief. If you do qualify for care, your Doctor will explain their recommended plan of action for you. If for some reason you do not qualify for care the doctor will refer you to someone who may better suit your needs.
